Q - What do I need to run NRGSTREAM Xtractor?
To run NRGSTREAM Xtractor you must run a Microsoft operating system from Windows 2000 forward (i.e. 2000, XP, Vista, Windows 7) and have access to the internet.
Q - How come Xtractor outputs csv files that sometimes line up the data on one time series and other times posts a time series for each Stream?
If your csv file has more than one time series, you have selected streams that have an inconsistent data interval like contract data for example. Streams that have consistent intervals (i.e. 5 min, hourly, etc) will line up together. To have all Stream line up on a single time series, select the “Force data alignment” option from the Output section of the extract.
Q - What’s the difference between SQL XML and XML in NRGSTREAM Xtractor?
The SQL XML file is formatted for use with SQL Server XML Bulk Load Component to directly load your extract into your SQL Server database.
Q - Under Windows Vista, none of my extracts are showing up and I cannot create new extracts.
User Access Control in Vista can interfere with Xtractor. To resolve this, right click on Xtractor and choose Run as Administrator.
Q - In corporate network environments with restricted security settings, Xtractor may hang when running an extract OnDemand.
If the NRGSTREAM Xtractor service is running under a specific user account, you must be logged into Windows as the same user on the same domain as the service to run extracts OnDemand.
Q - The Xtractor service cannot connect or extracts are not running on schedule and the event log shows there is a Crypt32 error.
A recent change from Microsoft has caused some issues with Xtractor. Microsoft Knowledge base article KB317541 describes how to resolve this issue.

Q - Data extraction has failed. Status message: "failed - Could not open directory location", What can I do?
 Check your Output directory name. Make sure the file directory location is correct and another file with the same name is not already open.
 Check with your IT department. Has the directory location been altered or moved?
 If possible – look at successful historical extraction and copy its directory location.
